During the drive home Sunday night we passed through the tail end of an ugly storm in the middle of Missouri. The clouds brewed, quite literally (my sister, the journalist, hates it when people say "literally"... but seriously sister, they brewed!) and I watched as a particularly nasty cloud cluster twisted and curled back on itself. But soon the sun shown and we were home safe and sound... then Monday morning... I heard about Joplin. And I am amazed at the power of nature, and how tiny it makes me feel, and how terribly sad it is to see people loose loved ones to a brewing cloud from the sky. So surreal and sad and humbling and frightening.
Praying for those suffering in Joplin tonight.
