Santa-Cali-Gon Days was the third fun part of our busy Labor Day Weekend. Julia performed with her dance studio, in the rain. She had to lie in a puddle at one point and probably will remember her devotion to her craft forever because of it. The crowd went wild, nothing like devoted 3 and 4 year olds to get a crowd roaring. Bella slept.

Remember how little she was at her first SCG performance? Wow.

The note from the studio read "Makeup as you wish" and they wished for plenty of eye-popping makeup for their big stage show. I was impressed that they danced their hearts out in front of a huge audience without a tinge of nerves, Carolyn even did a cartwheel. Grandma tap-danced without any nervous jitters, too! Go Grandma!

Santa-Cali-Gon Days, which should be on everyone's bucket list, was the site of the girls' latest dance recital with cousins Nathan and Noah (Natalie's brothers) and cousins Sam and Joel (from My Canvas is Green) to cheer them on. Highlights included Artic Lemon Ice, my Santa-Cali-Gon must-have every year, and not loosing any children (also an annual must-have). I personally owe a debt of gratitude to my strong male relatives who were willing to hoist up the littles so they could view the performance, all 100+ pounds of three small wirey children.

The recital was beyond fantastic. My Grandma did a killer tap routine in a poodle skirt (loved it!), the girls were adorable dancing to "Material Girl" (precious), I got to live my unrealized dream of being a cheerleader with the Mom's pom-pom routine to "Tricky". And the guys brought down the house with their Grease medley Father-Daughter number (priceless).

Tonight we rehearsed and smiled big at the big reveal. The girls have been asking for weeks what my dance was like, I've been doing the same for theirs. And the Father-Daughter routine had everyone cheering. Can't wait for tomorrow!
