She wants to be a photographers someday. And someday is coming soon, you know? She turns six on Sunday. Turning six means seeing the doctor for a check-up and finding out that she is 100% healthy and growing great (slow, but great). She is in the 10th percentile for weight and 25% for height but the 95% for energy and the 110% for ability to scale walls like Spiderman. She used to want to be a ballerina but her Daddy must make the photography gig look pretty good because she's been snapping pictures with her Fisher Price kid-camera all over the house lately. We're thinking of getting her an upgrade for Christmas. I'll keep the kid-cam 'cause it makes my teeth look shiny white. Soon she'll have her own blog and maybe she'll monetize so I can retire. Maybe when she's seven.

My wish for my daughter the photographer / swimmer / ballet dancer / artist / all-around sassy girl - that she can enjoy her work this completely for the rest of her life - and that she can continue to go to work in her pajamas always (we should all be so lucky).

Carolyn has requested her own blog. I told her she might just try being a regular contributor to mine for a while and we'll see how it goes... "a blog is a big responsibility for a little girl" I explained. She decided she'd try it out - and yesterday provided her day in photographs as a soon-to-be regular submission.

My own little photographer was on-site for the day of wedding prep. She captured everything from the photographers (upper right), to the hairdresser (lower left), to dresses hanging and sweet babies playing. The photographers captured some shots of her at work, I can't wait to see how those turn out, too!

Our budding photographer has been enjoying the self-portraits today. She has enough faces to fill a few memory cards, so it was only a matter of time before she turned the camera on herself. This time it was during a drive to our friends' house for dinner. Sitting next to her was a little sister who was neither impressed nor interested in being part of the fun... but she did take a pretty picture.

This is Carolyn's day in photos - she carried around her camera as she rode to the Copy shop with Mama, preschool, and the Marble Factory - all the while sporting Dorothy shoes cause she's cool like that. I'll post my version of the day in photos tomorrow - for a comparison. But just so you know, she schools me in the photo skills - she gets it from her father.
