My parents' visit could not have come at a better time. The blooming of the Cherry Blossoms at the Tidal Basin in D.C. takes place over a few short days and they happened to visit at the peak. On a perfect late afternoon we walked from the Jefferson to the Martin Luther King, Jr. monuments under a canopy of pink blossoms. When the wind would blow the blossoms would rain down like snow and it felt like we were in Narnia. The girls stopped to watch several artists capturing the beauty in their make-shift studios amidst the tourists and news crews. It will remain one of my happiest memories of our time in D.C., a few short hours but truely amazing beauty.
