On Friday afternoon (after school work was all done) we took a fantastic field trip to the National Air & Space Udvar-Hazy Center. I did not realize, before moving out East, that the National Air and Space Museum has two locations, one on the National Mall in D.C. and one next to Dulles International Airport. This location is essentially a massive hangar containing, among other things, a the Space Shuttle Enterprise (hello!?!) and an SR-71 Blackbird (Toby Keith would be mighty proud of this beast). You can also go into the 160ft. tall observation tower to watch planes land at Dulles and listen to a direct feed from their air traffic controllers. It... was... awesome!
