The unexpected part of watching your littles grow (one of many) is how serious they become. What once was explorations of the tangible world around them turns inward around 4 or 5 years old and they ask questions about things Mommy isn't ready for... - like where the baby comes out "no mom, seriously WHERE?" - what does "stepmom" mean? - how does the baby get in the mommy's tummy? - will I die someday? will you? - where is heaven really mom? - is Santa actually real? how about the toothfairy?

In light of all this seriousness, especially from the super serious J, I decided to take a break from Cubeville for a bit tomorrow to surprise her by showing up at the Preschool Spring Party. Sometimes when your kids get too serious you think its because Cubeville takes you're days and your tired at night and get impatient at their curiosity. Then you feel guilty and take them to the park, buy them ice cream and take off work for Spring Parties. Then they sit and giggle in the tub and you know that you are not the source of their happiness, but simply have the priveledge of being a part of it.
