The Weather Tree from All Year Round.
x
This beautiful concept from All Year Round seemed like a perfect way to kick off the school year, particularly since we are studying "Weather" in September. I scanned the image from the book, enlarged it, and had it printed at a local print shop (the best print shop in KC by the way).

The tree has a branch for every month, with a leaf for every day. The girls selected the color coding for different sorts of weather, and at the end of the year they will be able to look at the tree and see how the seasons change in Kansas City. As a bonus they got to color their birthdays pink (because birthdays are pink no matter the weather!)

Katie, I'd love to get one of these for Molly's classroom -- did you have the book in your possession, or did you scan it from something else? And did you add the months on the branch groupings, or did you find a pic like that? It's really adorable, and a good tool and remembrance of the year. Great pass-along!! k. mitchell

Thanks, Katie! Molly is in a spec. ed. classroom this semester half days (mornings) and this is something that is a good 'one-on-one' interaction with some of her kids with autism. I'm getting some extras to stow away for modified uses as well. Thanks so much!!! I LOVE cheap treats!!!!
