Its blowing outside the window, fiercely. Winter is my least favorite season. I had a baby in November, it was a long winter, I swore I would only have babies in sunshine from then on. Then came J - on December 14. Winter brings cute babies and that's about it.

I should have never posted the picture of the office. I have a day job, so I can't spend my days hunting for affordable treasures, nor organizing said office. Instead I sat in Cubeville, opening the photo now and again to lament that my time is not my own - but whose is really?

I thought about my time as I spent two hours on the drive home in the incoming blizzard. No one drove over 5 miles per hour the entire drive. So I was safe. But bored. And lonely. And late to the pot luck.

I had dinner with Jodi at the pot luck. The food was cold, except ours. I ate ours mostly. Jodi had a good idea for recycling greeting cards. She puts them all in a basket near the dinner table, pulling one out each night to be prayed for along with the meal. I'm borrowing her idea. I borrow lots of ideas. Except I'm using the girls birthday cards, and I'm putting them beside their bed. Maybe this will take their mind off the prayers for Miles the dog, "that Mommy wouldn't kill him."

I found a use for the 5 million (only a slight exaggeration) leftover gift bags we have, too. I'm taking them to these people. Those people are good. They provide support to kiddos in foster care. That's good stuff, very good indeed.

The last two unopened gift bags of the season were cleared of their contents tonight. The girls tore into some new LEGOs and Polly Pockets, forgotten on Christmas. C built a castle for J's Polly's. I dressed Polly in each of her new outfits, some of them twice.

Tomorrow I will wake up early, apply the ponytail and blush and be on my way. I'll have leftover potluck yummies for lunch, and think about home.

Wish I could share my snow day with you so you didn't have to go to cubeville tomorrow. Try to have a good day!
