Grandpa Jim is running for re-election in April. Tonight was a kick-off event to get signatures for the petitions of him and two other candidates. Anytime free pizza is involved the masses show up, and tonight's crowd was a good one.

The girls were happy to see their Grandpa in action, while it exhausted me to think about all the friendly handshakes and conversations one must endure to be a public figure. Then Carolyn fell backwards off the backless bench and smashed her head right as Julia was in the middle of an intense neck-pinching episode on my lap. I realized we all have to endure something of one sort-or-another.
