There were far more exciting things happening this weekend than just gallbladder surgeries - like my little brother got engaged!Here's the dirt:
The bride-to-be - Rachel is a beautiful, sweet girl who seems to be totally crazy about my brother (see for yourself on her blog). She is a great artist and loves my kids, two reasons I think she's pretty cool myself. And she's got great hair (I'm a little jealous of that one).

How he did it - Leaving his summer internship in Houston he drove like a bat-out-of-Hell to KC as a surprise to his lovely lady over the 4th weekend. He showed up at her doorstep unexpected Friday morning, which brought tears to her eyes without even suspecting a ring in the pocket. When she asked "What are you doing here!?!" He got down on one knee and said "Well, I have a question for you"...she said yes!

When's the big day - Sometime next June is the hope. Still awaiting the church booking and reception hall and all the other things we former-brides remember with a hint of stress. But I am loving all the phone calls with questions about wedding details from my little brother, what a very fun thing to be planning!
