My sister Emily threw her son a Mario Birthday party when he turned seven a few weeks ago. Recently she nonchalantly flipped through the photos on her fancy phone to which I exclaimed, "you need to blog those sister". She shrugged and said that she'd rather I do it... so here you go.

She gave each little guy a giant mario mustache upon arrival - they LOVED them!
x
She made the cupcakes and pinata to fit the theme and (not pictured) she hung Mario looking stars all over for decor. Seriously creative and my nephew was thrilled!

My girls are another year older, so we celebrated.
x
In attendance we had:
4 Alices
3 Red Queens
1 White Queen
1 Cheshire Cat
1 Mad Hatter
x
The children were served (Little Debbie) "Eat Me" cakes with (Koolaid) "Drink Me" drinks.
x
We played croquet with a flamingo, tried our hand at over-sized chess, slayed the jaberwokky, painted roses red and took photos in the Red Queen's throne.
x
The favors (tutorial pending) were miniature tea-tins with four pretend sachets for at-home tea parties anytime.
x
My mom, mother-in-law, grandma and best friend were life savers this year making food, centerpieces, tea bags and decorations galore. I am glad for celebrations, but more glad for those we are celebrating with.

This is how an anal-retentive engineer plans for a child's birthday party. Then again, this may be how everyone plans for a child's birthday party. Tomorrow we are off to Wonderland!

The Wonderland Birthday invites went out this morning. I elected to try out glitter this year. Wonderland just seems glitterific to me, so I went with it. The Wonderland font found HERE worked perfectly, and rubber stamps and stamp pads were on sale at JoAnn's...win, win, win!

How wonderful would these be as a favor at an Alice in Wonderland party?

The party theme for this year's birthday blow out is nearly settled upon. It is only fitting that our new found obsession with Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland should warrant an Alice Birthday, complete with a Red Queen, Mad Hatter, and most certainly more than a few little Alices as well. I've been searching the web for creative ideas (above) and there were more than a few... Table Runners at Mad Hatter Party, Koolaid "Drink Me' bottles, lanterns in Wonderland, polyvore still pondering, polyvore alice, Colorful "Drink Me", Red Queen Invites.

My cousins are the best sports,
Nathan was THRILLED to have Ghostbusters in attendance at his birthday party!
See more photos of the ghost busting, Wii playing, good time HERE.

PS - Nathan is a crazy-good Lego assembler, I am in awe of his mad skills
